This past weekend, we proudly participated in the New Castle Community Day 2025 at the Chappaqua train station plaza. It was the very first public appearance of the Chappaqua Chinese Cultural Association (CCCA), and our booth quickly became a highlight, drawing in families and friends to experience the richness of Chinese culture.
Event Highlights
Calligraphy Experience: Both children and adults enjoyed writing blessings and wishes on bookmarks and wishing cards. Some wrote in Chinese characters, while others added creative English expressions, creating a beautiful blend of cultures.

Neighbors experienced the beauty of Chinese characters by creating their own personalized bookmarks Traditional Crafts: Kids carefully decorated “fortune bookmarks” with stamps and designs, engaging in a hands-on way to explore the beauty and symbolism of Chinese traditions.

Fish Lanterns Display: Colorful handmade fish lanterns decorated the booth, symbolizing prosperity and “abundance every year.” They became a favorite photo spot for families.

Lion Dance Performance: Young performers dressed in traditional costumes brought the lion dance to life, accompanied by powerful drumbeats. Their energy and spirit created a joyful climax that filled the entire event with excitement.

JiwoodsBlocks,:a traditional mortise-and-tenon wooden puzzle. Families worked together to build creative structures, experiencing the craftsmanship and ingenuity of ancient Chinese design through hands-on play.

Cultural Experience
Beyond the performances and crafts, our booth offered cultural introductions and fun learning moments. Visitors discovered the meanings behind auspicious phrases, listened to the rhythms of traditional Chinese drums, and learned about the symbolism of fish and lions in Chinese culture. Every detail carried warmth, joy, and a spirit of celebration.
Gratitude & Looking Ahead
We are deeply grateful to all the families, children, and volunteers who joined us. Your enthusiasm and support made our first appearance truly memorable.
Looking ahead, CCCA will continue to organize cultural activities, holiday celebrations, and family-friendly events, building a cultural bridge that connects our community and brings the beauty of Chinese traditions to everyone.
We look forward to seeing you again at our future events!
